Renting a car
- Drivers must be 21 to 75 and have held a full licence for at least two years. Provisional, learner and suspended licences aren’t accepted. International licence holders need a passport and visa copy.
- Standard insurance is included with a $5,500 excess plus an admin fee. Reduced excess ($2,000 plus admin fee, drivers 25+) costs $10 a day or $50 a week. Drivers aged 21 to 24 pay an extra $1,000 excess.
- A $250 refundable security bond is due before pick-up and is returned within 10 business days if the car comes back on time, clean, fuelled and undamaged.
- 200km a day is included. Extra kilometres are $0.30 each.
- Stay on sealed roads. Travel south of Katherine or outside the NT needs written approval. Off-road, beach, river-crossing and flood-zone driving isn’t allowed.
- Renters are responsible for fines, infringements and tolls. An admin fee applies if we process them.
- Late returns are $25 an hour, up to the daily rate. Return the car with a full tank, or a $55 refuelling fee plus fuel applies.
Buying a car
- Prices and details are shown as listed. Confirm the details with the team before purchase. Cars 4 Mates is a licensed motor vehicle dealer (LMVD 1087).
- Inspections and test drives are welcome.
Selling your car
- Offers are based on the details and photos you provide and are no-obligation. A physical inspection may be arranged to confirm the final price.
